About the Class:

 

 

Pre-K- First Grade: Fun with Legos!  Young children will engage in Lego activities that will stimulate their minds and encourage social interaction

Elementary Student Sessions: Darton State College’s C.O.O.L. Saturdays are an opportunity for young children to explore the worlds of music and science through authentic, exciting, engaging hands on activities.  During these two hour sessions, the students will participate in music activities and science activities to encourage discovery and critical thinking. Some activities include making music with coke bottles and water and  using drums to make music.

Middle School Sessions: In these C.O.O. L. sessions, Middle School students will have the opportunity to learn how to code and the skills to become a computer programmer. They will build their own “hello” world app and an html website. They will also gain science skills in the rotating group session by participating in fun chemistry labs facilitated by a College Professor.

High School Sessions: High school students in these C.O.O.L. sessions will engage in Japanese language sessions, Theater Production, and Broadcast Journalism. They will also gain science skills in the rotating group session by participating in fun chemistry labs facilitated by a College Professor.
