In The Spotlight
Kyle Parks is a Sophomore at Darton State College with an enthusiasm for fishing. He was elected President of the Darton State Fishing Club Team in the fall of 2012 and has been very active since his inauguration. Through his leadership, the team raised over $3000 in 2012 and competed in three tournaments with three top 25 finishes, including a third place finish among other colleges and universities in the southeast region. He is very passionate about fishing and seems to find a way to express his passion through the club events. Kyle currently has a 3.7 GPA and continues to be a student leader for the Fishing Team.
“Fishing is my passion and I want to excel at the collegiate level and beyond.”
As a graduate from Baconton Community Charter School, Kyle chose Darton due to its convenience and close to home location. He enjoys what Darton has to offer including the small class sizes, the Student Center and all of the activities offered through Campus Life. He also enjoys bowling and table tennis in his spare time between classes.
Kyle’s goal is to earn his Associate Degree at Darton State College and transfer to Georgia Southwestern to complete his Bachelors of Business Administration. “I would like to stay in the Albany area after graduating and do something to help give back to the community.”
In the meantime, Kyle and the fishing team plan to compete in several more tournaments such as FLW (Forest L. Wood), Bassmasters, and the Georgia Southern Trail in 2013/2014.
