Darton's new Video Techniques and Applications Certificate Program, which begins in the fall, provides a working knowledge of the basics of the videography and digital video editing field. Students can then use that knowledge to immediately enter the workforce.
Economist To Speak on "The Recession and its Aftermath"

Darton Alumni Association is Seeking Recipes
If you have a great recipe you would like to share with others, contact the Darton College Alumni Association. The Alumni Association is seeking recipe submissions for a 336-page coffee-table style cookbook. The cookbook will cover the scenery, spirit, and flavor of Southwest Georgia and also celebrate the area's rich history and culture.
2008 Academic Recognition Student
Amanda Faircloth is Darton College's 2008 Academic Recognition Student. Each college in the University System of Georgia annually selects one student to honor for their academic achievements. Ms. Faircloth is a full-time nursing student with plans to graduate from Darton in Spring 2009.
"A Day in the Life"
What type of dance interests you? Are you into modern or hip hop? Perhaps ballet and jazz are more your style. "A Day in the Life" will offer a mixed bill of dance pieces including those mentioned – plus belly dancing and more! Darton's dance department and the Dancing Cavaliers present "A Day in the Life" on Thursday, March 6, and Friday, March 7, in the Darton Theatre.
New Building Dedication
and Ribbon Cutting
The dedication and ribbon cutting for the new B. R. Tilley Academic Services Building on Darton's campus will be held this Friday, Feb. 15. The festivities will take place at 10 a.m. in front of the new building. The building will be dedicated to Dr. B. R. Tilley, the founding president of Darton College. The public is invited to attend.
First Annual Guitar Workshop
On February 15, Darton College will host its first annual guitar workshop. Directed by Dr. Matthew Cochran, guitar instructor at Darton, the workshop is a celebration of the guitar, bringing students of all levels and styles together with a world-class faculty of artists. This one-day event consists of concerts, masterclasses, lectures, and a youth guitar showcase for pre-college ensembles and soloists.
Recycled Percussion Returns To Perform at Darton
Recycled Percussion bill themselves as the hardest touring percussion group in the world. Performing on everything from their signature "trash" kits – including plastic buckets, huge ladders, mortar casings, and giant 50-gallon containers – the band will keep the audience on their feet. They are making a return appearance at Darton on Tuesday, Jan. 22 - so get your tickets now!
Online Certificate Program in Homeland Security
Darton College offers an online certificate in homeland security. The 30 credit hour program is designed for students who have no experience in the field of homeland security and those who already have an entry-level job or experience and need to enhance their education to stay competitive.
Classes cover such topics as emergency management, transportation systems, protection of infrastructure, securing borders, and more.
