|A Message from the New Alumni Board President|
Dear Cavalier Family and Friends,
Darton has played an important part in my life for more than five years. It was where I earned my Associates of Science in Computer Information Systems; formed lifelong friendships and defined my purpose in education. As the 2013 – 2014 president of the Darton State College Alumni Association, I have the privilege of serving as an ambassador for our beloved alma mater. I look forward to impacting and giving back to the institution that contributed so much to my development.
This is a unique time in the history of our College. Darton has transition from a two year status to a four status offering students the opportunity to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The administration, faculty and staff continue their focus of expanding programming that will ultimately expand and create additional opportunities for the greater community. To ensure the success of these efforts it is important that the DSC alumni play a role. It will take collected effort to help recruit, retain, and support the current students of this great institution. The time to take action is now.
As your 2013 – 2014 President of the Alumni Association, I am requesting that you update your contact information in order to receive updates on the innovative changes and expansion efforts. Please take the opportunity to visit your alma mater right away. Wonderful things are happening on a daily basis. You will be proud to see the physical improvements, experience the state of the art nursing building, and observe our brilliant student body and meet our distinguished faculty.
Along with your help we can build an Alumni Association committed to the purpose of promoting and supporting the activities and objectives of Darton State College. Each member of the Alumni Association has been blessed with a unique and individual skill set that will allow us to take the Association to the next level to help uphold the mission and traditions of this great Institution. Collectively, we can make a difference!
Thank you for supporting Darton State College with your time, talent, and resources. Together we can substantially increase alumni participation and support in 2013 – 2014.
La’Quata Sumter ‘07
|Have you received this postcard?||Membership is a gift of Education|
The alumni association has been working hard to connect with Cavaliers this past year. 29,000 of these postcards have been mailed calling Cavaliers to action. We need you to connect with the alumni association by 'liking' us Facebook and by updating your contact information. Alumni are the key to a strong future for Darton State College. Please be sure we have your correct contact info by updating it here. We need YOU!
Partner with us by joining the Alumni Association. Joining the Alumni Association for a small gift of $35 or giving to the Annual Fund says that you recognize the positive impact Darton had in shaping your future. Each membership is a gift of education through scholarships for current and new students, and helps us grow even more by supporting Darton’s growth as a four year institution. As a member of the association we invite you to come to events, volunteer on a committee, or as an Alumni Board member. It’s a great group of people to be involved in – we’re all Cavaliers!
