1990’s

Frances Pollock Carr (’90) graduated with an Associate of Science degree in Political Science; then went to the University of Georgia and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in ’92. Frances lives in Albany and is employed by Darton College as the Coordinator of Institutional Research. Frances has been with the college for 12 years. She married Randy Carr in 6/98. They have one daughter, Madison Grace (age 3).

Alida Lightsey Ward (’90) graduated with an A.S. in Nursing; then transferred to Georgia Southwestern State University and received a B.S.N. She is married Richard C. Ward, III 12/89.

Richard C. Ward, III (’91) graduated with an A.S. of Science; then transferred to Troy State in Dothan, AL. receiving a B.S. in Business Administration (’94). Richard has been employed with the First State Bank of Blakely for seven years and is the City President for the Arlington Branch. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Early County Board of Commissioners (1/05 – present). He married Alida Lightsey Ward (’90) 12/89. Children include Jennifer Lynn Ward Dunn (age 33), Richard C. Ward, IV (age 31), William Ames Allmond (age 27), and Elsa Allmond Crawford (age 25).

Kelly Sceals Neel (’92) graduated Darton College with an A.S. degree in Business, and then went to the University of Georgia as a Business major. She transferred to Valdosta State University where she graduated with a B.S. degree in Business Administration in ’94. Kelly was involved in the Honors Program and a member of Phi Theta Kappa (Honors Society) while at Darton and was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority at VSU. She’s been an active volunteer of the United Way since 1999 and served as a volunteer with the Children’s Miracle Network from ’02 – ’03. Kelly lives in Tallahassee, FL. where she is employed by Forms Management, Inc. (FMI) as a sales representative. She has been with FMI for eleven years. Kelly married Tim Neel 1/98. She has two stepchildren, Brandon Tyler (age 15) and Taylor Brooke (age 12) and gave birth to a daughter, Mason Reed 11/04.

Amanda Shamlee Sullivan (’92) received an A.A. degree and then went on to receive a B.S. degree from the University of Georgia (’95). Amanda currently lives in High Point, NC where she has been employed as a Human Resources Manager with Celebrate Express for three years. She received the Profession in Human Resources (PHR) certification in ’03. Amanda married Will Sullivan 6/01. They have one daughter, Caroline Margaret born 5/04.

Sherri Johnson Williams (’92) graduated with an Associate of Arts degree then went to the University of Georgia as an English major. She transferred to Valdosta State University and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Public Relations in ’96. Sherri was on the Dean’s List at Valdosta State University from Fall 95 – Spring 96 and was a member of the National Communication’s Honor Society (Lambda Pi Eta), the Public Relations Student Society of America (P.R.S.S.A) and Kappa Delta Sorority. Sherri served on the Board of Directors for United Cerebral Palsy in Huntsville, AL ’01 – ‘03; received a Certified Marketing Director (CMD) designation in ’01 and was a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers from ’96 – ’03. Sherri moved back to Albany in ‘04 and has been employed by Darton College as the Coordinator of Alumni & Volunteers since 3/05. She married Stephen D. Williams, Jr. 8/97. They have a son, Stephen D., III ‘Trip’ (age 2) and are expecting another son in November ’05.

Leigh Irvin (’93) graduated with an A.A. degree and transferred to the University of Georgia and received a B.S.Ed degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She went on to earn a M.A. from Louisiana Tech University in Speech Language Pathology. In addition, Leigh earned her Specialist in Education Technology degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in ’02. She has been a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association since ’98 and was a member of the Junior League in Laurinburg, NC from ’98-’99. Leigh moved back to Albany in ’04 and is currently employed by the Lee County School System as a Speech Therapist and does contract work.

Eulene Folds Rentfrow (’94) graduated from Darton College Magna Cum Laude with an Associate of Arts degree in Social Science. Eulene was an employee of the college for 23 years and served as Administrative Secretary for Purchasing. Since retiring, she works at Darton College part-time as an Administrative Secretary for the Social Science division as well as the business department. Eulene has two children, Patricia L. Rogers and John L. Rentfrow, Jr.

Susan Savelle Summerall (95) graduated with an A.A. in Music; then transferred to Georgia Southwestern State University and received a B.S.Ed in Music (’97). She has been employed by the Doughtery County School System for seven years as a Music Specialist. She married Michael Summerall 7/95. They have three children: Jarrett David (age 6), Haleigh Parrish (age 4) and Lauren Kelly (born in 05).

Tishana Andrews Smith (’96) graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in History and then transferred to Georgia Southwestern State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in History (’99). Tishana is currently employed by Georgia Southwestern State University as a Library Assistant. She married Kevin Smith 5/99. The couple reside in Preston, GA.

Stacey Stone Cowart (’97) received an A.S. degree in Pre-Occupational Therapy and went on to obtain an A.S. degree in the Occupational Therapy Assistant program (’99), both degrees from Darton College. Stacey went on to achieve a M.S. in Occupational Therapy from Belmont University in ’05. She currently resides in Sylvester, GA and is employed by Darton College as the Interim Director of the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program. Achievements include graduating from Belmont University in the Occupational Therapy honors program, Pi Theta Epsilon; she has served as Albany District Chair of Georgia Occupational Therapy Association (GOTA) from ’03 – ’05; and has been a member of GOTA since ’98. Stacey married Steve Cowart 2/93; they have two sons, Landon Alexander (age 9) and Gavin Benjamin (age 5), and are expecting a baby girl in December ’05.

Brenda Hasty Apperson (’98) received an Associate of Science in Accounting and then went to Georgia Southwestern State University. She lives in Albany and has been employed by Darton College as an Administrative Assistant for 22 years. She won the Outstanding Staff Award (’94) and Employee of the Month (’03) award as a Darton employee. She is married to Rodney Jene Apperson. They have three children, Melissa Regina Higdon (age 25), Rodney Jene, Jr. (age 23), and Carie B. (14).

Leann Heath Miller (’99) received an Associate of Arts in Secondary Education and then transferred to Georgia Southwestern State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing with a minor in Psychology (’01). Leann has been employed by Georgia Southwestern State University for three years as the Textbook Manager for the Campus Bookstore. Leann graduated Magna Cum Laude from GSW (’01) and is a member of the Better Hometown Taskforce. Leann married Matt Miller in ’01. The couple resides in Dawson, Georgia.
