Emily Zhaleh Almaee (’02) graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in Psychology. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Emerson College in Boston, MA in ’05 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Directing/Community Theatre. Emily currently lives in Brighton, MA and works as a 1st Contact Domestic Violence Counselor for Casa Myrna Vasquez, Inc. She received her Certificate of Domestic Violence Training in ’05.
Debbie Shaw Anderson (’02) graduated with an A.S. degree in Human Services Technology. She received a B.A. from LaGrange College (’04). Debbie has recently been employed by Darton College as a full-time Student Success Advisor and serves part-time as a faculty member. Debbie served as a Corporate Service Trainer for five years. She volunteers for Theatre Albany; is a member of the Lee County Palladium Players (Thespian Society Member); serves as a Hospice “Camp Good Grief” Counselor; and is a youth and adult choir leader. Debbie resides in Leesburg, GA with husband Steve Strickland. Debbie and Steve were married 11/04. Debbie has two children, Jana Renee’ (age 23) and Claye Anthony (’21).
Lerkeesha Jackson (’02) graduated with an A.S. degree in Business Administration and then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Albany State University (’04). Lerkeesha currently lives in Albany and is employed by Darton College as an Accountant and works part-time as a Floral Assistant at Winn-Dixie. Achievements include being a member of Delta Mu Delta, the International Business Honor Society and being a member of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), ’03 – ’05.
Angela Bradford (’03) received an A.S. in Criminal Justice; then transferred to Saint Leo University and graduated with a B.S. in Criminal Justice (’06). She has been employed with the Albany Police Department for 19 years and currently serves as a Lieutenant. She is a past State Chairman for the Georgia Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) program, past President of the Albany MADD program, member of Safe Kids of Albany, Civitan Club, Moose Club, and member of the Delta Epsilon Sigma (National Catholic Honor Society).
Lesley Smith (’03) graduated with an Associate of Science degree in Early Childhood Education, then went on to receive a B.S. degree in Parks & Recreation; Sports Management from the University of West Georgia in ’04. Leslie lives in Albany and has been employed by Darton College almost one year as the Physical Education Complex Assistant and Facility Manager. Lesley played scholarship softball at Darton College ’00 – ’02; worked at the Darton College bookstore; was a “Who’s Who Athlete;” played scholarship softball at the University of West Georgia ’02- ’04; and worked at the University of West Georgia bookstore.
Venessa McKinney (’04) graduated with an A.S. in Middle Grades Education and then transferred to Columbus State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in History. Venessa currently lives in Columbus, GA and is employed by Columbus State University as an Enrollment Services Specialist.
Johnette LaMons (’04) and her husband Tommy have celebrated 35 years of marriage.
Aaron Herring (’05) recently graduated with an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice. Aaron has transferred to the University of Georgia where he is currently pursing a Bachelor’s degree.
Shakirah McConnell ('05) graduated from Albany State University with a degree in Health and Physical Education in May 2010. She is currently employed by Albany State University as a Graduate Assistant. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education and lives in Albany, Georgia.
Terrill Cooper (’09) and Shakema Cooper (’09) have both earned their BSN from Georgia Southwestern and they are expecting their first baby in July.
