Georgia's public university system remains a powerful economic engine in spite of the challenges facing it and the rest of the country. Darton College provided the second largest economic impact among the state's public two-year colleges.

Georgia's HOPE scholarship program has had to make some steep adjustments in order to counteract the effects brought about by the current economic climate - namely, rising tuition costs, the recession, a decrease in lottery revenues, and increased enrollment demands.

Darton Dance Company Present Cosmic Kinematics: The Story of Mary Beth's Ballet

Please come out to the Darton College campus June 25 at 7:00 p.m. to see the Darton Dance Company's latest production. The Gala fundraiser, with live music by the Albany Symphony Orchestra, is sure to entertain you. Judge Loring Gray and Karla Heath Sands will also offer guest performances.

Joan Darden Named Academy of Nursing Fellow

Dr. Joan Darden, former vice president for academic affairs, was named one of twelve Academy of Nursing Fellows in the nation by the National League for Nursing. This class of fellows represents leaders in nursing education from nursing programs across the higher education spectrum and from other organizations committed to health care. Dr. Darden, who retired from Darton College in 2009, is a nursing professor at Thomas University.

FREE Movie On The Lawn June 25

The Office of Student Activities is hosting a free movie on the intramural field June 25. "The Green Hornet" will begin at 9:00 p.m. and is open to the public. There will be free popcorn, snow cones, and cotton candy for Darton College students with an ID. Refreshments may also be purchased by non-students or those without an ID card. So if you're looking for a fun family activity Saturday night, this is for you!
