The faculty and staff at Darton College are excited that you have chosen Darton for your educational experience. You will soon be balancing a schedule that includes classes, homework, and social activities. The transition into college is not always an easy one, but the First Year Experience program is here to help you through the process.
The First Year Experience Program focuses on providing you a welcoming and supportive environment. The program will prepare you with valuable resources that are critical in transitioning successfully here at Darton College. Our office is available to help you navigate your first year and make Darton your new home!
The First Year Experience Program at Darton offers:
- DART 1000, a course required of every first year student that covers topics such as study skills, diversity, and career exploration;
- Cavalier Early Alert, a report designed to aid FYE in monitoring the success of Darton’s first year students in their classes and putting the students in contact with the resources available to help them succeed;
- Learning communities, as series of core classes designed around a central theme that further facilitates community on campus;
- And a variety of social and education events to help foster the development of a first year community.
