COMPASS Placement Retesting Policy
Deadlines for ALL testing & retesting are:
15-May-2012 for Summer 2012
14-JUN-2012 for Summer 2012 – B Term
07-AUG-2012 for Fall 2012
Darton College allows one retest per area for applicants required to take the Placement test. Retesting is voluntary, costs $10 per area if taken at a Darton campus, and must be taken BEFORE meeting with an advisor to register for classes.
The Admissions Office determines which parts of the Placement test are required upon receipt of:
- requested GED/high school and/or college transcripts
- SAT/ACT scores if taken – not required
- previously earned compass test scores

Applicants who test at the Albany or Cordele campus will receive test results and retest information immediately after the test. Students who test off campus will be contacted by Darton’s Testing Office regarding retesting upon receipt of initial scores.
The higher earned score(s) will be used for placement purposes.
Once a student registers for classes, he or she is no longer allowed a placement retest.
