PeopleSoft Expense Training (Staff Only) - Dennis Sledge (Testing Center) - SESSION CLOSED
This session is designed to assist those persons that are unable to complete the self-paced web based training. Classroom sessions will utilize the web based training with the addition of an on-site facilitator to provide immediate assistance as needed. Since this expense training is mandatory for all faculty/staff you will need to attend one of the classroom sessions if you do not plan to complete the training on your own time. Attendance does not guarantee completion of the training.

Everyday someone is faced with an emergency or crisis. Some emergency events affect large geographic areas, impacting hundreds of people. More often, small, "everyday" crises impact those we encounter each day. Most have the necessary coping skills and will be just fine....but some won't.

In this session we’ll attempt to unlock the mysteries of your digital camera. The session will be a combination of lecture, demonstration and hands-on activity. The session will cover: how to properly care for and hold your camera, how to adjust it for different situations, and how to make photographs that go beyond the ordinary. Stroke is the 3rd leading cause of death in the United States and the leading cause of disability. The carotid arteries are the main blood vessels supplying the brain. They can develop a buildup of plaque, which in severe cases can lead to a stroke. Carotid screenings are a simple, no risk procedure that can be done in a matter of minutes .

How to Build Your Course in Georgia View/WebCT Vista - Dr. Janice Hilyard (J132) Limit: 20
This is a hands-on session. Janice Hilyard will share with participants the importance of designing your online and/or hybrid course to meet Darton online standards. Then Tracy Cosper will lead you in the application exercise in WebCT. Participants should bring to this session a syllabus for a class and will use it to learn file management, document saving, and the basics of course organization in the WebCT template.

One of best ways to get students to understand concepts is the use of an appropriate analogy. Personal anecdotes, sports analogies, and examples from our students’ lives are some of the best analogies that we could employ when trying to get our students to understand important content. Join me for an interesting discussion on how you can improve your class’s effectiveness and appeal with some aptly placed comparisons. Staff are welcome as well, by the way, because analogies work just as well when communicating with anyone, work or home.
