Working Title: Director
Department: Instructional Technology and Distance Learning
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, monitor, in cooperation with the academic divisions and continuing education, all components of Instructional Technology and Distance Learning needs and requirements.
- Participate in student recruitment and retention.
- Advise academic divisions, continuing education, and the administration regarding Instructional Technology and Distance Learning capabilities.
- Serve on community, advisory, division, and college committees.
- Assess and plan for new programs and services, and revision of present services.
- Manage budget to ensure support of college programs.
- Evaluate staff assigned to the ITDL Division.
- Recommend annual salary adjustments.
- Act as ITDL representative to system advisory committees.
- Seek grants to support ITDL and college programs.
- Develop and implement long-range ITDL plans and goals in coordination with the college strategic plan.
- Assist and interact with faculty, staff, or students with questions concerning instructional technology and online courses in a professional and courteous manner.
- Willing to learn as faced with new questions and situations.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and recommend solutions.
- Perform duties as assigned by the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Required Education and/or Experience:
- AA degree or equivalent in experience. Technology certification is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Web browsers.
- Ability to multi-task and perform duties quickly in a fast paced environment.
- Energetic, with friendly personality and positive attitude.
- Minimum of three years experience.
- Must have strong communication skills and technical skills
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated skills with electronic resources and Internet based technologies.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- A commitment to the teaching-learning process in the two-year college.
Supervision:
This position reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
