Working Title: Principal Test Proctor and VUE Test Administrator
Department: Student Affairs
Purpose:
This is a highly responsible position to assist the Testing Coordinator in all duties, functions and testing administered by the Testing Office and to administer VUE certification tests.
Nature of Work:
The Principal Test Proctor must perform appropriate protocol for all tests administered in the Testing Center and ensure the security, reliability and test validity. The Principal Test Proctor functions in the role of the Testing Coordinator in his or her absence and assists with scheduling and administering various tests. The Principal Test Proctor provides clerical support to the Testing Coordinator as needed.
The Principal Test Proctor serves as the VUE Test administrator.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greet and competently address inquiries from students, teachers and the public regarding testing concerns
- Supervise multiple tests simultaneously while keeping office functional
- Keep all tests and scores confidential
- Post testing dates for the Testing Center Calendar on the website as requested by instructors. Keep site updated.
- Provide test scores to other schools as requested by students
- Assist with/administer the following tests as scheduled
- Regents’ Test
- Compass Windows Placement
- Compass Windows ESL
- Compass Windows EXIT
- Compass Windows Diagnostic
- Residual ACT Tests
- Nursing (HESI, Pre-Admit, Challenge)
- MAPP Graduation Requirement
- Tests for Distance Learners
- Off-campus Placement Tests
- Off-campus Exit Tests
- Residual ACT
- USG e-Core tests
- Distance Learning tests for community
- Certification Tests (AAB, Real Estate, etc) for community
- Perform all/some of the following tasks for tests as needed:
- Schedule tests with approval
- Schedule testing room
- Provide preparatory material to admissions and directly to students
- Receive phone reservations/answer questions
- Receive teacher referrals
- Look up all Darton ID’s for students to provide at test session
- Locate sites and set up off-campus tests
- Prepare rolls
- Reschedule Regents’ Test and Placement Tests as requested
- Ready computers as needed
- Receive & receipt students’ proctor payments
- Verify ID and check admit to testing
- Provide detailed instructions prior to tests
- Administer group testing
- Administer individualized testing
- Grade tests
- Provide scores to student
- Explain and provide retest information
- Provide scores to instructors
- Correct student input errors
- Provide score report letters to Admissions/Records
- Maintain records for Testing Office use
- Post individual scores to Banner
- Access Compass Remote scores
- Order tests
- Invoice fees online
- Access off-campus scores
- Keep web testing calendar updated
- Perform clerical duties for testing operation
- Order supplies
- Fax tests for Distance Learners
- Return phone calls
- Use e-mail as a communication tool for testers
- Maintain supply of brochures for Placement Testers
- Maintain supply of MAPP info handouts
- Send scores to other schools at student’s request
- Reconcile payments & deposit to Business Office
- Advise Testing Coordinator of matters of concern
- Work day, evening or weekend hours as required
- Serve as Darton’s VUE computerized test administrator
- Schedule tests during week when rooms are available
- Schedule Saturday tests
- Administer all VUE tests
- Keep records
- Coordinate with faculty to support Darton students’ VUE needs
- Process placement and exit scores to Banner
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Testing Coordinator
Required/Desired Knowledge, Abilities & Skills:
- Ability to learn and perform complex testing protocol
- Communicate effectively with staff, faculty and public
- Considerable knowledge of ESL Compass testing program
- Familiarization with Banner
- Knowledge of Microsoft office
- Be task oriented and observant
- Ability to use office machine
- Maintain confidentiality
- Enjoy working with the public
- Ability to work flexible schedule
- Ability to multi-task
Required Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience in teaching or test administration
- Computer skills
- Communication and organizational skills are necessary
Supervision:
Reports to Testing Coordinator
