Since its establishment in 1836, Albany has been a center for industry, technology, and culture in South Georgia. Located in the southwest section of the state, the city is just a few hours away from Florida’s gulf coast, Georgia’s Atlantic coast, and the city of Atlanta, and offers convenience of great shopping, museums, parks, and many areas of natural beauty that surround this section of the country. With a population of over 100,000, the City has two hospitals, two television stations, several radio stations, a symphony orchestra, a drama troupe, and other artistic organizations. The people are friendly, the climate is perfect, and the cost of living is low. In Albany, Georgia, living well is easy. Albany has therefore been given the nickname of “The Good Life City.”
