Darton Faculty Member Recognized at Annual Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful Luncheon

January 28, 2014

ALBANY – Darton State College Associate Professor of political science, Roger Marietta, was recently awarded The Litter Abatement Award by the Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful committee presented by Mayor Dorothy Hubbard for his weekly efforts to improve neighborhood litter.

The mission of Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful is to ensure that the area’s surroundings always look as beautiful as possible. This would not be possible without a large number of volunteers. The efforts of these volunteers were acknowledged Thursday, January 23 at “Cheers to Our Volunteers, “ KADB’s annual volunteer celebration luncheon.

Commissioner Willie Wingfield thanked the volunteers for their effort and time to make Albany and Dougherty County “ a clean and more beautiful place to work and live.”
