Darton Names First Recipient of the Curtis Malone Memorial Scholarship

ALBANY, GA – Darton State College student, Deborah Stewart, of Albany, has become the first recipient of the Curtis Malone Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship, which is awarded through the College’s Health Sciences Division, was established in memory of Curtis Malone, a former respiratory care faculty member at Darton.
Stewart is a non-traditional student in the respiratory care program at Darton, and currently works for the Georgia State Patrol office in Albany. Following graduation, Stewart plans to work as a respiratory therapist while continuing her education to earn a bachelor’s degree.
Curtis Malone was a beloved faculty member at Darton State College for more than five years and served as the clinical director for the Respiratory Program.
