Darton Players To Perform The Servant of Two Masters March 25-27
March 10, 2010
The Darton College Players announce their spring production of Carlo Goldoni’s The Servant of Two Masters March 25-27 at 8 p.m. in the Darton College Theatre.
The Servant of Two Masters is a madcap comedy of mischief, mistaken identity, and meatballs.” The comedy is a contemporary adaptation of a classic Italian comedy of the 17th century, featuring slapstick humor, quick verbal wit, lovers separated and reunited, along with music and costumes of the period.
Because the play’s characters have their origins in the Commedia Dell’Arte (the improvised comedies of Renaissance Italy), many of the actors will be wearing traditional comic masks. Darton’s theatre students have trained in the creation of the stock characters of the comedy, as well as stage combat in preparation for the production.
Tickets are $5 to the general public and free with a Darton College I.D.
