Osteoporosis To Be The Topic During ‘Lunch With a Doctor’ Nov. 4
The Women’s Information Network will focus on osteoporosis during ‘Lunch With a Doctor’ Thursday, Nov. 4, at Darton College.
This event will run from noon-2 p.m. in room C-252 of the Student Center. It is designed to screen postmenopausal women for osteoporosis and to educate them on what can be done to prevent and treat the disease.
Speaking and answering questions will be Sharon Baker, a women’s health nurse practitioner, and Dr. Michael Raines, a family medicine physician who practices at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus.
The cost is $5 per person, which includes a light calcium-rich meal and free bone density testing.
