Phi Theta Kappa Chapter Earns Five Star Status
Darton College’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter has achieved five star status. Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society of two-year colleges.
Five star is the highest level that a chapter can achieve, and there are many items that need to be completed in order to reach that level. There are 29 Phi Theta Kappa regions in total and 37 chapters in the Georgia Region. Only six achieved Five Star Level last year.
The region also elects several chapters each year to serve as office chapters for the region. Darton’s chapter was previously elected to serve as the regional secretary chapter. At the recent regional conference, the chapter was elected to serve as the 2011-2012 vice presidential chapter. This means that Darton will host the fall regional conference.
At the recent conference, chapter adviser Frank Malinowski was awarded the Horizon award that is given to new advisers that are making an impact in the region. Malinowski is the interim dean for the Science/Math Division at Darton.
