Andrew Wilder has been named Darton College’s Academic Recognition Student for 2011. Each college in the University System of Georgia annually selects one student to honor for their academic achievements.

Mr. Wilder, 21, of Albany, was homeschooled. He is the son of Stephen and Debra Wilder.

A computer science major who will graduate from Darton this May, Mr. Wilder plans to attend Georgia Tech and work toward a master’s degree or higher in computer science. He is vice president of student fellowship in Phi Theta Kappa and treasurer of the Gaming Club.

As the Academic Recognition Student from Darton College, his name is read on the floor of the Georgia General Assembly and entered into the official record. He will receive a declaration at Darton’s Honors Program this month.
