Darton College to Hold Spring Commencement May 3
Darton College is pleased to announce that it will hold its Spring 2012 Commencement on Thursday, May 3 at 7 p.m. in the Cavalier Arena. This year’s spring commencement will feature an address to the graduates by Major General Charles L. Hudson, Commanding General at the Marine Corps Logistics Command.
Major General Hudson is a 1981 graduate from The Citadel. During his 30 years as a commissioned officer he as served in many areas of the Marine Corp and as participated in operations conducted in Grenada, Lebanon, the Arabian Gulf, East Timor, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Before being assigned as the Commanding General at the Marine Corps Logistics Command, located here in Albany, Major General Hudson was at Camp Pendleton in California where he served as the Commanding General of the 1st Marine Logistics Group.
Major General Hudson is a graduate of the Marine Corps Amphibious Warfare School, Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and the Marine Corps War College. In addition to a Master of Military Studies and a Master of Strategic Studies, he holds a M.S. in Human Resource Management.
Approximately 330 graduates are eligible to receive an associate of science, associate of arts, associate of applied science degree, or a certificate. Following commencement, the Darton College Foundation and the Student Government Association will host a reception for the graduates and their families in the Student Center.
In addition, Darton College’s allied health pinning will be held May 3 at 3 p.m., followed by the nursing pinning ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Both ceremonies will take place in the Cavalier Arena.
