Darton College To Host Professional Women's Forum On May 16

May 01, 2012

Darton College’s Continuing Education will host a Professional Women’s Forum on Wednesday, May 16, from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Doublegate Country Club. The featured speaker is Caroline Fielding, Dean of Darton’s Cordele Center. She will speak on “From Tear Gas to Sweet Tea, One Woman’s Journey”.

Fielding, who has worked in post-secondary education for more than 20 years, was named director of the Cordele Center in 2006. Since then she has played an instrumental role in the development of the center, increasing enrollment each year and expanding the educational opportunities available to the area. Fielding also is very active in the community. She has served on many boards, including the Rotary Club of Dougherty County, the United Way of Southwest Georgia’s Executive Committee, and the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce Legislative Affairs Committee. Currently, Fielding serves on the Cordele-Crisp Chamber of Commerce board and the Cordele Rotary Club board.

Twice a year the Darton College Department of Continuing Education and Economic Development host the Professional Women’s Forum. It is designed for women of southwest Georgia to meet and network, learn about educational opportunities, development strategies for success, and to inspire one another to achieve great things. A distinguished guest speaker highlights each forum.

The $25 fee includes lunch, and reservations are required. Networking begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch from 12-1 p.m. To register, call (229) 317-6730 or (229) 317-6726. Please make reservations and payment at least three days prior to the event.
