Men's Soccer Beats South Georgia College
The Darton State College Cavaliers beat South Georgia College in a home opener Wednesday, 3-2, improving their overall record to 3-0.
The Cavs, ranked No. 3 in the most recent NJCAA poll, led 3-0 until South Georgia put away two free kicks awarded inside the 18-yard box late in the second half.

Sophomore captain Troy Tucker scored the first half’s lone goal on an assist by Alejandro Garcia. Barrington Wright buried a loose ball into the lower left corner of South Georgia's goal in the second half before sophomore Jowayne Laidley netted Darton's third.
"I thought it was a great way to start the year off at home," said Darton head coach Bart Sasnett, whose Cavaliers have lost only once at home since 2009. "And I thought our fans were fantastic."
Now undefeated and with two nationally-ranked teams in their wake (Tyler and San Jacinto), the Cavaliers hope to carry this momentum to Dunwoody, where they'll face conference-rival Georgia Perimeter College on Saturday.
"Georgia Perimeter, away, will always be our toughest game of the year,” Sasnett said. "Win or lose, we just want to play well."
In their last meeting, Darton ousted GPC 4-3 in double-overtime to win the 2011 GCAA championship.
Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Perimeter's Dunwoody campus.
