Darton State College Hosting Constitution Day Events
September 14, 2012
Darton State College is hosting "Constitution Day" on Monday, September 15, and Tuesday, September 16. This two-day event is held annually to celebrate the signing of the document that has guided our country throughout its history.
On Monday, September 17, five home-schooled students will each present an oration on the Constitution at 11 a.m. in the Darton Theatre. In addition, other performances and activities will take place around the campus from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, September 18, Darton will welcome Todd Handelman, who will speak on the constitution, the supreme court and the impact both have made on our lives from past to present. Mr. Handelman graduated magna cum laude from the University of Illinois in 1986 and earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Georgia in 1989. Admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1989, Handelman is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the Georgia Supreme Court.
