One - Day Two Great Events! Join Darton April 13 To Help Raise Money For Scholarships
ALBANY - Mark your calendars for April 13, and join Darton State College for a day with two fun-filled events, the 4th Annual Clay Shoot Competition and the Smokin’ Butts 5k & Fun Run. All proceeds from both events benefit student scholarships.
Event goers can start the morning off with the Smokin' Butts 5k & Fun Run. Sponsored by the Darton Cross Country team, Global Education, and the Darton Alumni Association, the 1-mile walk/run will begin at 8 a.m. followed by the 5K at 8:30 a.m. Registration for the 5K and the 1-mile fun run is $25, however if participants register before March 31 it is only $20. After the Smokin' Butts run, come out and support the Business and Social Science Divisions at Darton State College for the 4th Annual Clay Shoot Competition. The event will be held at the Flint Skeet & Trap Club, located at 1319 Lily Pond Road in Albany. Tickets for the clay shoot are $40, which includes 75 shots and lunch catered by the award-winning Darton Cookers. Clay shoot registration is from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.; with the competition starting at 11 a.m. Space is limited, so participants are urged to purchase tickets early! All proceeds from the Clay Shoot Competition and the Smokin' Butts 5K & Fun Run will benefit student scholarships through the Darton College Foundation. Approximately 75-80 percent of Darton's students receive federal or state financial aid. The Darton College Foundation is dedicated to enhancing and promoting higher education, creating scholarships and endowments, supporting faculty and staff, and expanding educational opportunities at Darton State College.
