Network Downtime
OIT will be making updates to the network over Spring Break. During this process, the main router will be brought down briefly and reconfigured. This process has been scheduled for the Monday morning of Spring Break, March 27. The entire network will be down for approximately 1 hour. Email, calendars, internet, shared folders, the web site, and WebCT will not be available on or off campus during this time period until the backbone is restored. Restoring the web site first will be our top priority.
Throughout Spring Break week, multiple servers will be shut down so that maintenance can be performed on them. We will try to keep all disruptions to a minimum. We do not expect any other major down times after the initial Monday morning disruption of services; however, we may have to bring specific servers down as needed for maintenance. We will notify users of specific servers of when the server will be brought down for maintenance and approximately how long it will be down.
