For more information, contact the Allied Health Administrative Assistant at (229) 317-6900.

The certificate program in Cancer Registry Management at Darton College is designed to prepare the student for a career working in hospital-based cancer registries or population-based central registries. Cancer registration is the basic method by which information about the incidence, type, extent of disease at the time of diagnosis, treatment methods used and survival of patients with cancer is systematically collected. Cancer registrars play an important role in the fight against cancer. Cancer Registry professionals are required to collect, analyze, and disseminate cancer data. Graduates of this program will be eligible to write the national examination given by the National Cancer Registry Association. Upon successful completion of the examination, the professional credential of Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) is awarded.

Prerequisite requirement is that the student already has an associate degree in Health Information Technology to be admitted to this program.
