Diagnostic Medical Sonography
How to Apply
Complete a Darton State College application for admission and submit it to the Admissions Office along with the $20 non-refundable application fee. Complete a Diagnostic Medical Sonography application packet and return it to the DMSP office (room 249, J building).
Completed application packets must be received no later than June 1st, of each year. The application is completed only when all information requested is received. Students are responsible for making sure their application is complete.
Completion of all support classes and completion of all DMSP prerequisites with a grade of "C" or better. Completion of a DMSP application packet. A GPA of 2.5 is required.
A minimum grade of "C" is required in each DMSP course. The Hepatitis B vaccine and a CPR course are required prior to clinical assignment. Liability insurance is required upon enrollment in clinical courses.
The program maintains clinical affiliations with many hospitals in Southwest Georgia. Students are assigned clinical rotations to provide a well-rounded education. Students must be prepared to travel to the clinical assignment.
