Job Trend: OT Continues to Rank in the Top 10 of Healthcare Jobs
Despite news about the economy and unemployment, the profession of occupational therapy continues to make strides in the employment categories. It was recently listed as the #7 Best Healthcare Job and #11 in the 100 Best Jobs of 2013 by U.S. News.
There’s more good news: The Bureau of Labor Statistics states that occupational therapy assistant jobs can expect a “growth of 43% from 2010 to 2020” which is “much faster than average”. It has also been listed as “one of the seven fastest growing careers you can enter with an Associate’s degree.

The OTA program at Darton State College awards an Associate of Science Degree to OTA students who successfully complete all aspects of the OTA didactic and fieldwork curriculum. All fieldwork must be completed within 18 months of completion of academic preparation. Students are eligible upon achievement of these requirements to take the National Certification Examination through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
