Art Program
The Art Program at Darton College is a dynamic and growing program designed to prepare emerging and aspiring artists for continued studies at four-year institutions or to directly enter the workforce after receiving an Associate of Arts degree. The Art Program provides students with a broad overview of the basic concepts and technical skills in all the major art media.
Art Courses
Art Studio Courses include: 2-D and 3-D Design, Drawing, Painting, Watercolor, Computer Art, Ceramics, Visual Design, Basic Photography, Digital Photography, and Web Page Design. In addition, courses are offered in Art History and Art Appreciation.
Certificate Programs
For those students interested in entering the workforce as quickly as possible, students can gain valuable job-related skills through Darton’s one-year (18 semester hour) Certificate Programs – the Graphic Design Certificate Program or the Visual Communication Certificate Program (digital and conventional photography skills and techniques).
Art Students’ League
To expand student opportunities, there is an active Art Students’ League, which provides additional personal growth and service to the community.
Scholarships
Scholarships are available for talented and qualified students.
