Shelley Bingham
A native of Los Angeles, California, Shelley Bingham graduated from the University of Southern California in the spring of 2006 with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and Language and a minor in education. During her years of undergraduate study, she distinguished herself as a Town and Gown scholar and was honored to be the recipient of the Nancy Reagan merit scholarship award.
During the summer of 2006, Shelley moved with her husband, Matt, to Princeton, New Jersey. While working toward her Master's degree part-time at Columbia University, Teachers College in New York City, Shelley taught eleventh and twelfth grade English at South Brunswick High School in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey. Shelley graduated in the spring of 2009 with a Master of the Arts in Secondary English Education. Her culminating research project defended the role of lecture in the English classroom and suggested ways lecture might be used creatively to engage and instruct the postmodern student. The summer following graduation, she and her husband moved to Albany, Georgia where her husband took a job as the teaching pastor of Flint River Bible Fellowship.
Shelley is honored to be a part of the Darton community and enjoys teaching English Composition I and II. Her hobbies include reading, playing the piano, cooking and spending time with her Boston Terrier, Francis.
