Program Objectives
- Maintain a program that contributes to the quality education and preparation of competent paralegals
- Provide students with a broad base of knowledge in various areas of the law
- Teach students the practical application of legal theory
- Provide students with legal skills that will enhance their role as nonlawyers in the delivery of legal services
- Develop student analytical, critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
- Prepare students to conduct legal research and engage in other factgathering activities
- Enhance writing skills in accordance with the standards of the legal profession
- Ensure students recognize the limitations in their role as paralegals or legal assistants in that they are not permitted to provide legal services directly to the public, except as authorized by law
- Promote a high regard for ethical behavior, professional responsibility, and confidentiality
