Darton State College First Year Experience Welcome!
Welcome to Darton State College!
The faculty and staff are excited that you have chosen Darton State College for your educational experience. During your first semester, you will be balancing a schedule that includes classes, assignments, campus activities, and other responsibilities. Although the transition to college can be challenging, Darton’s First Year Experience Program provides the information, resources, learning experiences, and support needed for you to successfully navigate your first year at Darton by including the following:
- DART 1000: The required course for the FYE Program specifically meets the needs for new students who have less than 12 earned hours of college credit. Course topics include course and college policies, online learning, time and stress management, learning styles and multiple intelligences, career research, academic planning, and digital library tools.
- Cavalier Early Alert: This initiative monitors the success of Darton’s first year students in their classes and assists students in identifying the resources that are available to facilitate academic and personal success.
