Nursing Faculty and Staff
Bonnie Gary earned her Associates and Bachelorís degree in Nursing from Georgia Southwestern University when it was still a college. She earned her Masterís in Nursing from the University of Phoenix online. She was enrolled in the Doctorate of Nursing program at Medical College of Georgia and completed several courses before her military deployment. Since her return she has completed a masterís level program for the Air Force and has been working to complete Air War College.
She has a varied background in nursing with a focus on medical-surgical and oncology nursing. She has certification in oncology and still practices part-time in outpatient chemotherapy. At Darton College, Bonnie has served in the past as interim assistant chair of nursing and has taught the first year of nursing courses. She taught classes at Sumter Regional Hospital until it was destroyed by the tornado at which time classes were relocated to the Cordele campus.
Her nursing career includes a commission with the United States Air Force Reserves and she is presently assigned to a CASF unit at Maxwell Air Force base in Alabama. She has always loved nursing and cannot imagine nursing not being an integral part of her life.
