Nursing Faculty and Staff
Tracy Jones-Darnell is a Nursing Instructor here at Darton College. She obtained her B.S. in Nursing at Georgia Southern University in 1996. After graduating, she worked as a Medical Surgical nurse at Tift Regional Hospital in Tifton, Georgia. She became an American Heart Association CPR instructor in 1999. Throughout her career at TRMC, she served as a staff nurse, charge nurse, and Patient Safety Coordinator. She rediscovered her love for geriatric nursing and began working on her Masters’ in 1999. She graduated in 2001 with a M.S.N. in adult health. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education in Leadership from Valdosta State University.
All of these events led her to Darton College in August of 2009. She feels fortunate to be able to teach Adult Health 2 and considers all of her students her “nursing children”. Ms. Darnell is married with three children and two step-children. In her spare time she enjoys spending time at Lake Blackshear with her family and friends.
