Lisa D. Lowe
Mrs. Lisa Lowe is the Nursing Professor at the Thomasville Satellite Nursing Program here at Darton College.
Born and raised in Thomasville, she obtained her Associate of Science in Nursing from Darton College and continued on to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing with certificate in Nursing Education from the local university. During her nursing career she has worked in Medical/Surgical nursing, Recovery Room/Holding Room, Emergency Department, Case Management/Utilization Review, Instructor for the local Licensed Practical Nursing and Certified Nursing Assistant program, and continues to keep up her skills by working in Pre-admission testing at the local hospital.
While obtaining her Master of Science in Nursing with an Education Certification she was able to work as an intern at Darton College Thomasville Nursing Program. This led her to the position as Clinical and Classroom instructor of the Thomasville Satellite program. Her passion in nursing has been teaching. She enjoys encouraging, demonstrating, and leading others into the nursing field. In her extra time she is active in the community with the local Pregnancy Center and volunteering with coaching softball, teaching Sunday school, and other local community activities. Her other desire is for the nursing students to be able to at least go on one medical missions trip in their lifetime. It is an eye opener culturally to be able to experience another way of living especially in the medical profession. Ms. Lowe has been able to provide medical care in Nicaragua as a nurse and provide the needs of the people in a different country that would not have otherwise received the medical care that they needed.
Ms. Lowe’s goal and desire is for each nursing student to succeed in and out of the classroom setting and to never give up on what they want to achieve, it can be done.
