The Associate Degree Program in Nursing at Darton College is approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing. The Nursing Program is also accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). Information regarding nursing programs may be obtained by contacting the NLNAC at 61 Broadway 33rd Floor, New York, New York 10006, (212) 363-5555. It is a five semester program planned to prepare the graduate to function as a nurse in first-level staff positions in hospitals and comparable agencies. After successful completion of the Associate in Science in Nursing degree, graduates will be academically eligible to write the state licensing examination and to practice as a registered nurse. The state Board of Nursing has the right to refuse to grant a registered nurse license to any individual who has been convicted of moral and/or legal violations specified in Georgia law.
