ALBANY - Last week Darton State College faculty members from the nursing department led a group of nursing students to the State Capitol for the Georgia Nurses Association (GNA) Legislative Day on January 24.
Michele Miller and Lisa Lowe, both Darton nursing instructors, along with 61 students from Darton’s main campus and Thomasville campus, joined more than 1,000 nurses and students from around the state in Atlanta. GNA's Legislative Day is an annual event that provides members, nursing students and other RNs from across the state the opportunity to meet with and educate their legislators.
The students and faculty had the opportunity to meet Representative Ed Rynders, R-Albany, District 152. Representative Rynders invited the group to the floor of the house, where he explained the process of how legislation is passed.
