Darton State College Health & Physical Education Division | Facilities Information
The Darton State College Physical Education complex covers nearly 100,000 sq. ft. and features an indoor 25-yard by 25-meter pool in the aquatic center, aerobics/dance studio, 3,000 seat Cavalier Arena, renovated fitness center, indoor 1/8 mile walking track, recreational gym, classrooms, lounge areas and locker rooms.
These facilities are available to current Darton students, and can be reserved for special events as well.
In order to access the pool, fitness center or walking track, users must meet one of the following criteria:
- Be a current student with a valid Cavalier ID Card
- Be a Darton Fit Booster club member (Fee applicable)
Darton’s Physical Education facilities and playing fields are used by an estimated 100,000 people annually. The program is one of the most comprehensive in the southeastern United States and offers numerous courses such as: Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, Dance, Aerobics, SCUBA, Badminton, Basketball, Racquetball, Golf, Bowling, Volleyball, Self-Defense, Rock Climbing, and First Aid and CPR.
The grounds also include an eight-court tennis complex that is open to the public. Court times may vary as reservations for classes and tennis teams are in place. Darton State College has all rights to tennis courts at any time.
