Library Research PIN and GALILEO Password

  1. My Account:
  2. CLICK on “Access my GIL account” at gil.darton.edu/ OR go to “My Account” if already in GIL

  3. Get your PIN to email by:
  4. Enter your Library Barcode (the number from your ID card or Library card).  If you don’t know the ID number go to http://www.darton.edu/oit/dcid.php
  5. LEAVE PIN BLANK
  6. Enter your Last Name
  7. CLICK on the GET MY PIN link
    8. Get PIN Number
  8. You should something similar to the following message:
    “Your PIN has been sent to first.lastname@mail.darton.edu. Please use your browser's Back button to return to the Logon page”
    NOTE: if the system rejects your number or name, make certain you have typed it correctly.  If it still doesn’t work, check with the Circulation Desk (229-317-6766).
  9. Go to your email: for Students open your My DC email and for others you will need to make sure that your email is listed in your Library account (usually DARTON email). the message be from :Ex Libris Group Web Owner [elgweb@gil7.gsu.edu] and will state:Your PIN is #####
  10. At the message “Your PIN has been sent to first.lastname@mail.darton.edu.CLICK on your browser's Back button to return to the Logon page”
  11. Enter your Library Barcode (the number from your ID card or Library card).  If you don’t know the ID number go to http://www.darton.edu/oit/dcid.php
  12. Enter your PIN number
  13. Enter your Last Name
  14. CLICK on the Logon button
    15. Input student ID number (library card number) on 1st line and last name on 2nd line then click button 'Login to my account'
    NOTE: if the system rejects your number or name, make certain you have typed it correctly.  If it still doesn’t work, check with the Circulation Desk (229-317-6766) ***You can see what you have Checked Out and Renew Online (if allowed) at this point***
  15. Password Access to GALILEO and CQ Researcher:
  16. CLICK on Request Link (Request): GIL Catalog Links
  17. Click on OK Button (OK) to get the GALILEO Password: CLICK 'OK' button for GALILEO password
  18. For GALILEO:
  19. Copy/ write down the word in quotes (don’t include the quotes):
    GALILEO Password information
  20. CLICK on the GALILEO link: GIL links including one to GALILEO
  21. Paste or Type in the Password: GALILEO password login
  22. For CQ Researcher go to http://library.cqpress.com/cqresearcher or for Short Stories for Students at http://infotrac.galegroup.com/itweb/dartcoll enter the same (GALILEO) password as both username and password.
